The Reach 2

When the son doesn't listen thats the price that the mother pays
Hot tears like sun showers on a summer day
Hard headed cranium, His mentality is like a trap door
Everybody has their opinion, "What he doing that for"
Ya see its kinda funny how life goes,
12 round bout dipping and dodging' all of life's blows
When you get past a certain age
Somehow you must forget about your younger years
Mama was the shot Queen and Nana downed the fastest beers
They forget about how hard it was to find yourself on this planet
So at every mistake and every stumble, they judge and i cant stand it
So i sit down, let em drown
But i got to get up again
Because there are ones coming up that are younger
That i got to teach to swim
That i got to show to win
Get past the scratching and the bruising
Not the physical but the mental
Because they are so accustom to losing
So every choice i make
I got to think like there is no tomorrow
Because my shadow is a light and there quick to follow
Quick to swallow... every bit of information that you put on their plate
There starving for a role model
So they take take take
TAKE ya behavior, TAKE ya speech
Take ya anger, Take ya peace
TAKE ya style, TAKE ya clothes
They take ya CONS people, they take ya PROS
Hoes, Pimps, Niggas and Bitches
Is what they turn into when it never was written
Never ever handed out, they go and sit on the bench
Because they never had anything to stand about
Thats why our little boys whisper and bow their heads when you ask them their name
Why our princesses settle for jackals when they deserve a King
So they grow up to be men with no guide and no direction
And women who are hurt inside and struggle with rejection
Thats why I tell my sister she is beautiful and reach for the sky
tell your little brother to shake my hand and hold their chin up high
Proclaim your name like a King
Speak as if trumpets followed your speech
And REACH boys and girls
REACH REACH REACH
